The Cuartel de Dolores served as base for the northern division of the Marine Corps and was designed by Sánchez Bort. It is a square building centred around an arms courtyard, with two large barrel vaults and surrounded by an arcade that gives access to the ground, first and second floors. The main body of the building has barrel vaulting, followed by a terrace roof on the second floor. The entrance to the building is in the main façade with Doric ornaments, coupled pillars and one-piece single pillars with four pilasters. An iron balcony with a stone shield showing the coat of arms can be seen over the cornice.
